Quarterly subscription by Direct Debit
Quarterly subscription by Direct Debit is our standard subscription method for all Spice East Midlands members. Joining quarterly by Direct Debit enables you to spread the cost of joining and if you need to cancel your membership, you can do so at any time without penalty. Our policy is to keep your Direct Debit payment rate unchanged for as long as you remain with the group, so long as your membership period continues unbroken. The only circumstances where we might have to review this policy would be an economic climate of very high inflation. Any changes to your Direct Debit would be notified to you in writing.
The current rates are as follows:
- Standard (one member) £36
- Couple (two people at the same address) £54
Your subscription will be debited to your account automatically on the 15th of the month (or as soon as your bank receives the instructions) and then every three months on the 15th of the month.
Single Annual Payment
Please call us if you wish to pay by this method which is now rarely used. It is the only possible alternative for those without a UK Bank or Building Society Account suitable for Direct Debit.

VAT
All our subscriptions include VAT at the prevailing standard rate.
Special Joining Offers
We often have promotional offers in force to encourage new joiners. The best way to find out about ALL the latest offers is to attend one of our Open Evenings / Preview / Club Nights where these will be explained.
Payments made through these special joining offers are not normally subject to refund (see below) so please make sure you are happy with the commitment made before you take it on.
All special joining offers are dependent on the completion and maintenance of a valid Direct Debit Mandate with a suitable UK Bank or Building Society and any offer provided may be revoked if this is not completed or is subsequently cancelled.
We have some additional benefits applicable to new joiners from a number of work groups. These include E-On group staff, NHS Staff and teachers. If relevant, please mention this when joining.
Methods of Payment
By Secure Online Payment Form
If you join on-line you will need to pay your first quarters membership by credit or debit card. We will process your application and post a direct debit mandate for you to complete and return. A direct debit mandate download link is included in our electronic information pack.
By Credit or Debit Card
Either telephone the Spice office on 0845 017 1031 during office hours, or write your Card details on an application form and send the completed form to us in the post.
By Cheque
Simply make your cheque payable to “Spice East Midlands”, and send it to us at the Spice office along with your fully completed application form.
Direct Debit Mandate
Whichever way you make your initial membership payment, subsequent quarterly subscriptions need to be paid via Direct Debit so please complete these details when you fill in your application form or if joining online or by telephone make sure you provide us with an original signed and completed form within 30 days of making your application.

Personal accident insurance
Your subscription fee includes liability insurance on all the events you take part in with Spice. So if you damage any property or equipment or accidentally injure another member you are covered. Your subscription also includes personal accident cover whilst taking part in any Spice event or travelling to or from it.
Satisfaction guarantee
If you make an initial payment by any of the above means and decide within the first three months of your membership that Spice membership is not for you, we guarantee to return all membership monies to you without question.
