Office hours

The Spice office is open Monday-Friday between 10am and 4pm. There is also a 24-hour answer phone, so please leave a message and we will get back to you when we are next in the office. An emergency mobile is also available on 07711 166480 for urgent out of hours calls. We do not take bookings or answer general queries on this number.

Booking onto events

Never simply turn up at a Spice event, you must book! We do not take payments at events and even if the event has no charge we still need to know how many are going. It is unfair to those who have taken the time to book and will mean a wasted journey if we cannot accommodate you.

You can book online 24 hours a day at from the Events list on this website. Or you can ring us during office hours (Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm) on 0845 017 1031.

You can also check whether we have received and processed a booking by looking at your 'My Details' section which is at the bottom of the events list section of this website. Login is required.

Please note: Bookings are only secure when payment has been received.

Late bookings

We do sometimes have slots available at the last minute due to cancellations etc. Please call the office on 0845 017 1031 for details and be ready to pay by credit / debit card to secure your place. Many events do sell out so the best advice is to book early to avoid disappointment. There is a wait list for events that are full and you can normally add your name through the online booking process or via the Spice Office.

Confirmation of bookings/cancellations

Your booking is automatically confirmed on the web. Please go to 'My Details' to see the status of your account. We generally only contact you where an event has been postponed or cancelled. 

Closer to the event we send out more comprehensive information about the location and other details. This is generally sent by email if this is feasible or post if not. If we have an email address registered for you but you still want these instructions sent by post please let us know in the Spice Office so we can mark your record accordingly.

If you haven't received the Event Joining Instructions with only a few days to go before the event you need to call us or email to confirm the event is still going ahead.

If you can’t make it to an event or are late

Please contact the Spice office if you cannot make an event, or the event leader if late where a contact number is given. Other members may be left waiting for you to arrive, and team events such as sports evenings may depend on your attendance for even team numbers. If there is a wait list we will always try to sell your slot as we prefer events to go ahead full.

Our policy is that wherever possible, we will try to resell your place in order to give you a refund whatever the time scale, so do let us know if you can't make an event, even at short notice and we will do our best to help. If you simply do not turn up for an event without contacting us you will automatically forfeit all monies paid, and will be liable for any balance.

Please allow sufficient travelling time and aim to arrive before the event starts. Whilst we will do our best helping with directions Spice cannot be held responsible if you are late and you will appreciate that it is unfair to keep other members waiting. If you miss an event the cancellation policy will apply and we will be unable to refund you.

Guest policy

Spice is a membership organisation and guests are welcome on Spice events only as an introduction to the organisation. Guests pay a slightly higher price, normally an additional 10% rounded up to the next 50 pence or £20 extra for weekends away. We ask that guests attend no more than 3 events, after which time we expect them to become members if they wish to continue to take part.

Ex-members are excluded from the guest policy i.e. ex-members cannot attend events as a guest and must re-join.

Only current members can book Spice UK holidays, however for £36 at the time of booking ex-members or enquirers can join Spice as a temporary member for 3 months and participate in all our activities including holidays.  Please contact Spice UK 0161 873 8788.

Contact details for someone you met on an event

Our Event Joining Instructions (JI's) include limited details on attendees purely to help members arrange lifts and transport share. Your own details can be excluded from this upon request.  We are unable to give out personal contact details for any other purpose. If you meet someone you like on an event please ensure you get their contact details at the time.
